Sageness Messengers is about a traditional belief in some West African communities that ancestors pass on their inherited wisdom to the younger generations through dreams or visions that only the initiated can receive. Ancestors’ spirits are depicted here as four-legged spirits that are traditionally associated with animals that possess virtues collectively considered of value to the community.
